BORN TO PERFORM
Born on January 10, 1993, in Washington D.C., Malik (Davage) enjoyed the sounds of the Temptations, Usher and 90’s RnB overall. A true lover of love and feelings, he showed interest in writing and singing at a very young age and vowed to make it his obsession. Growing up, Malik was raised fatherless but a true champion at heart nevertheless. Finding new challenges, he taught himself to dance and sing in order to excel to a competitive performance level. He looked to Sam Cooke, Tank, Michael Jackson, Usher and Chris Brown for performance techniques and within a blink of an eye, created the singer and performer he is today.
After many years of practicing, Malik was featured on BET's 106 & Park and sang the National Anthem for the Washington Wizards basketball team, which lead to him auditioning for “The Voice.” He chose the song by Miguel: "Sure Thing" and was chosen to be on judge Adam Levine’s team. All which prepared him for the next musical chapter in his life.
Eventually he came across the likes of a gentleman by the name of Kevon and another by the name of Dollar. The three clicked immediately! Now that he’s signed to Grateful Records, there’s no stopping him from achieving all of his dreams.
